Part 1: Stem

(Make 1)

We will start with the pumpkin stem on the top of the bucket hat. This is worked using color A.

Magic Circle

Make a magic circle.

Row 1

Chain 2 then double crochet 10 into the magic circle. Slip stitch to the 2nd chain in the first chain 2 to join.

Row 2

Chain 2, then back loop double crochet 10. Join to top of with a slip stitch chain 2.

Part 2: Body

Part 1: Stem

(Make 1)

We will start with the pumpkin stem on the top of the bucket hat. This is worked using color A.

Magic Circle

Make a magic circle.

Row 1

Chain 2 then double crochet 10 into the magic circle. Slip stitch to the 2nd chain in the first chain 2 to join.

Row 2

Chain 2, then back loop double crochet 10. Join to top of with a slip stitch chain 2.

Part 2: Body

(Make 1)

Now it's time to make the pumpkin body or the main part of the hat. Use color B.

Row 1

Join color B, chain 2 [double crochet 2] around. Join with slip stitch.

Row 2

Chain 2 then [double crochet 2] in each stitch. Join with slip stitch.

Row 3

Chain 2 then double crochet 1 in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 4-9

Repeat row 3.

Row 10

Chain 2, then [double crochet 2] in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 11

Chain 2, then [double crochet 2, dc 1] in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch.

Part 3: Leaf

Row 1

Single crochet 1 in 2nd chain from hook, half double crochet 1, double crochet 1 in next two, double crochet 6 in last chain. On other side of chain, double crochet 1 in next two, half double crochet 1, single crochet 1, chain 2, single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, join with slip stitch to first single crochet.

Coil

Chain 11, turn your work, then slip stitch 10.
